Monitoring of illegal activities throughout the province

35 enforcement operationswere conducted by the Authority in collaboration with SAPS and other stakeholders in the Province. Traders who contravened the act, regulations and other relevant legislation were either closed down and where applicable SAPS also issued fines.The non-compliance matrix identified during the monitoring and enforcement operations were:

• Not displaying the licence – Section 30
• Trading beyond hours allowed section – Section 48
• Selling “Take aways” by on-consumption outlets – Section 49
• Managers not appointed – Regulation 61
• Illegal structural alterations – Section 38
• Selling liquor to minors – Section 26
• Not adhering to licensing conditions

A total number 0f 245 fines (J534) were issued.
46 Non compliance notices issued.
A total number of 43 illegal gambling machines were confiscated.
